Northern Ireland needs a centre of geological
excellence
QUB Geology Department supplied that centre of
excellence
The closure of the department was
ill-advised
To retain its reputation, and to be able to offer
a full prospectus, QUB needs to be able to teach and award degrees
in geology
QUB should consider re-establishing a department
of geology as soon as possible.
QUB Geology Department's Alumni will then be in a
very good position to help the university with its various Alumni
appeals, and with the physical re-establishment of the
department.
