This is the Call for Papers for the second Global Landfill Mining Conference, 13 September 2010, London, UK (http://www.propubs.com/glm/). The event takes place the day before the popular RWM waste and recycling expo in Birmingham.

The convenors are looking for papers that address the practicalities and economics of landfill mining. The first Global Landfill Mining Conference attracted over 100 delegates from 25 countries and demonstrated that landfill mining is economically and technically viable under the right circumstances.

The second Global Landfill Mining conference will examine the following main themes:
• Business models for landfill mining;
• Pre-fill planning for future landfill mining;
• Optimised methane acceleration, recovery and termination;
• Regulatory and environmental issues for landfill mining;
• Sorting and treatment technology for landfill mining;
• New technology options for landfill mining and landfill processing;
• Waste-stream utilisation and beneficiation options.

Each presentation will have a 25 minute slot, with 5 minutes for questions. Strictly no advertising is allowed. Presenters attend the conference free (no delegate fee). Presenters are required to supply a written document, powerpoint presentation and biography 14 days before the conference to rob@propubs.com.
